Long Term Plans and Curriculum Mapping

At St Paul's Catholic Primary School, we have adapted and improved our curriculum mapping (Summer 2024) so that important 'sticky knowledge' is better retained by the children. Concepts are build upon and next steps in learning are identified. Aligned to the 2014 'National Curriculum in England Key Stages One and Two' document, subjects at St Paul's are systematically planned and delivered to ensure breadth and balance. We do not narrow our curriculum offer.

The St Paul's curriculum planning is sequenced to ensure children learn the key skills, underpinned by important essential knowledge and facts. The KAPOW scheme of work has been adopted to support teachers and HLTAs in some subjects.

Below are the long term plans for the current school year. These plans may be adapted and changed throughout the year to suit the specific contextual, environmental and academic factors affecting the cohorts in school. We try to respond to major local and national events and adapt our medium and short term planning accordingly.
